Frisco Personal Trainer on Vitamin C:

Most of us know that we need to get Vitamin C in our diets. It’s a common belief that getting adequate levels in our diet will keep us from getting sick and help us recover faster. While this is true, Vitamin C does much more than just help us fight off the common cold. In fact Vitamin C also helps maintain healthy bones and teeth, allows the body to repair wounds faster, and even help fight hypertension and prevent cataracts. Most importantly Vitamin C has been shown to be a powerful antioxidant in aiding the body’s fight of free radicals, some of which have been linked to heart disease, stroke, and several types of cancer. The National Institute of Health recommends a minimum of 90mg per day for adult men and 75mg per day for adult women. Vitamin C is found in many food sources such as oranges, broccoli, bell peppers, and even cauliflower, but can also be taken in supplement form.
