Milk Does a Body Good

You read that right; milk is our supplement of the month. Specifically for its use as a recovery drink post workout. Here’s the thing – milk is great. It has calcium, vitamin D, protein, and natural sugars. But that’s not all. It has a great mix of whey and casein proteins, BCAAs, electrolytes, and other vitamins and minerals as well. Simply put, it has everything you would look for in any other post workout drink. It will aid in recovery, promote lean muscle, and it’s cheap! Studies show that the mix of slow and fast digesting proteins (casein and whey respectively) may actually be better than fast digesting alone for gaining lean muscle mass. Add in the simple digesting carbohydrates to replenish energy stores and its easy to see why this may just be the best option. So next time you get home from a killer workout grab some milk.
